Want to buy a burrito from Chipotle using Monero? This guide shows the exact steps I used to purchase a Chipotle gift card with XMR and redeem it in-store so you can pay privately without linking your on-chain activity to the purchase.
Where to find Chipotle gift cards
First, go to https://monerica.com and navigate to Gift Cards & Prepaid Cards. You’ll see several vendors that sell Chipotle gift cards, for example:

- XMR.Cards (recommended for Tor + no email)
Step-by-step purchase (using XMR.Cards)
- Open a Tor browser (or use your preferred privacy setup) and go to the Tor mirror link listed on the XMR.Cards profile on Monerica.
- On XMR.Cards, click “See all brands” and filter by Dining & Restaurants to find the Chipotle USA gift card.
- Enter the USD amount you want on the card and click Create Order.
- Copy the wallet address and payment amount provided on the order page.
- Paste the address/amount into your Monero wallet and send the transaction.
- For maximum anonymity, broadcast from your own node or use a Tor remote node.
- Wait for the service to detect your transaction (the page will refresh and show a transaction hash).
- After ~10 confirmations, the page will present a Load gift card button — click it to generate the gift card.
- Download the PDF with the barcode to your phone or print it for in-store redemption.
Redeeming the gift card in-store
Bring the PDF or printed barcode to the Chipotle location. At checkout tell the cashier you have a gift card and they will scan the barcode with their barcode reader. The receipt will show the gift card usage and any remaining balance.

I redeemed my card for a carnitas burrito with guacamole — proof that using a gift card keeps your purchase separate from any on-chain Monero transaction: the store sees only the barcode and card balance.
Privacy notes
Using a gift card purchased with Monero means no one at Chipotle needs to know you used cryptocurrency. There is no information on the blockchain that links your identity or the in-store purchase to your gift-card transaction when proper privacy steps (e.g., Tor or your own node) are used.
Recommendations
If you want to maximize anonymity, consider using XMR.Cards via the Tor network and avoid providing an email address. Otherwise, multiple vendors are available through Monerica if you prefer a different provider or UX.
