TL;DR — Product Excellent, Ordering Slow
The chips are legitimately great—some of the best I’ve had (classic potato was my favorite). I did receive the order, but the ordering/communication was slow and at times stressful. XMRBazaar works, yet several fixes would make it far better for a healthy Monero circular economy.
- Product: Outstanding quality; small-batch feel; ~2 months left on expiry at delivery.
- Experience: Search was weak, manual TXID needed, vendor comms lagged.
- Scope: This is one vendor; I can’t speak for all sellers on XMRBazaar.
How I Got Them
I started from Monerica → Businesses → Marketplaces → Peer-to-Peer, then clicked into XMRBazaar. XMRBazaar’s search didn’t reliably find the vendor by name or product, so I paged around until I found Get Fat Chips.
Needs improvement: Search should match by vendor name and by what they sell.
Signup & Ordering Flow (Direct Pay with Monero)
- Log in to order: Account creation pre-populates a random username. Keep it or choose your own. Set a password. No email required.
- Generate message keys: Used for encrypted messaging with the seller. Save your keys.
- Choose “Buy Now” (Direct Payment): Enter your shipping address and confirm.
- Pay invoice: You’ll see a QR code and XMR amount.
- Manual TXID: To mark “paid,” you must paste your transaction ID (TXID). Then the order shows waiting for seller confirmation.
Pro tip: Message the vendor before paying to ensure they’re responsive. You do not want to send XMR and sit in silence.
Back-and-Forth & Exact Timeline
- Ordered:
- Aug 23: Status: “waiting to be shipped.”
- Aug 28: Still no update → I cancelled out of frustration.
- Sept 3: Vendor replied—busy making chips; said they would ship (and did).
- Sept 8: Delivered.
Takeaway: Confirmations and communication were slow. That was the biggest pain point.
Unboxing & Product Review
Once delivered, the quality made sense: fresh, premium ingredients, small-batch vibe. The bags had roughly two months left before expiry, which is understandable for this style of product.
- Standout flavor: Classic potato.
- Texture & seasoning: Crisp, clean, and balanced.
- Price: High. I’d love to see options near $10/bag or discounts on short-dated inventory so more people can try them.

Note: You can also see their process on their website and social media—clips of chips being made were a nice touch for transparency.
Feedback & Suggestions
Platform Improvements (XMRBazaar)
- Open-source the codebase.
- Add a .onion (Tor) mirror.
- Offer a no-JavaScript path for core actions.
- Treat any auto-encryption claims with skepticism; keep it transparent and verifiable.
- Improve search to find vendors by name and by what they sell.
- Auto-detect payments on-chain so buyers don’t need to paste TXIDs.
- Curate recommended/preferred merchants with response-time expectations.
Vendor Best Practices
- Respond quickly—even “we’re making them” prevents cancellations.
- Publish clear processing & shipping timelines.
- Maintain an up-to-date website and social profiles to build trust.
Buyer Tips
- Message the vendor first to confirm they’re active.
- Place a small test order before a larger purchase.
- Prefer vendors with an established website/reputation.
Caveats & Final Take
This review covers one vendor. There are likely sellers with faster communication and tighter operations. I’m rooting for XMRBazaar and want it to succeed—fixing search, payment flow, and communication would go a long way toward a healthier Monero circular economy.
Bottom line: Product = excellent. Ordering/comms = needs improvement.
