What this covers. This write‑up shows how to get a QDOBA e‑gift card using Monero (XMR) through Coincards, how to claim the code, add it to Apple Wallet, and use it at the register. It also includes what the receipt looks like and how to spend any leftover balance.
Find the card. Start at Monerica.com. Go to the Businesses → Gift & Prepaid Cards area and choose Coincards. On the Coincards site, use the search bar and type burrito. That brings up the QDOBA e‑gift card (sometimes branded as QDOBA Mexican Grill or QDOBA Mexican Eats).
Choose an amount. The product page offers preset amounts and a custom field. The supported range is $25 to $500. For a first purchase, picking $25 is simple and works for testing the flow.
Checkout & pay with Monero. Add the card to your cart and proceed to checkout. Enter your first and last name, state, and the email address where the electronic gift code will be delivered. Select Pay with Monero, agree to the terms, and continue to BTCPay. On BTCPay you’ll see a Monero QR code, the destination address, and the exact amount to send. If you scan the QR code from your wallet app, it will prefill both the amount and the address; if you prefer, you can copy them manually. Send the exact amount shown so your payment is detected without delay.
Confirmations & redirect. After approximately 11 confirmations on the Monero blockchain, BTCPay will register the payment and you’ll be redirected back to Coincards. Around the same time, an email arrives with a link to claim your gift card.
Claim the card. Open the email and click Claim code. The claim page loads a scannable barcode with the current balance. It also shows the card number and PIN. You can keep it on that web page, print it, or save it to a mobile wallet.
Add to Apple Wallet (optional). On iPhone, use the Add to Apple Wallet option. When iOS asks for permission, tap Allow, then confirm adding the QDOBA pass. This makes the barcode quick to retrieve at the counter and helps you track the remaining balance.
Paying in‑store. At a QDOBA restaurant (burritos, bowls, tacos, quesadillas, nachos, taco salads, etc.), tell the cashier you’re using a gift card. They’ll prompt you to scan the barcode from the web page or Apple Wallet. The system deducts your total from the card automatically.
What the receipt shows. The printed receipt may list the payment line as QC Cash Card and display the remaining balance on the gift card after the purchase.
Spending the remainder. If a small amount is left on the card, the store can complete your payment with:
- another QDOBA gift card, or
- another payment method (many locations accept Apple Pay).
This makes it easy to drain the balance to zero so nothing is stranded on the card.
Example order. For this walkthrough, a brisket burrito was ordered — a less common option compared to steak or carnitas — and the barcode scan at checkout worked smoothly.
Quick pointers.
- Scanning the BTCPay QR code reduces typing errors for amount and address.
- Send the exact amount requested to avoid over/under‑payment issues.
- Keep the claim email until the card is fully spent or safely stored.
Summary. Monerica → Coincards → search “burrito” → select QDOBA → pay with Monero via BTCPay → wait for confirmations → claim by email → scan the barcode in‑store (or use Apple Wallet). It’s a straightforward way to buy food with XMR.
