1. What’s the origin story of SageSwap, and why did you choose the name “SageSwap”?
The beginnings of SageSwap were a really cool time when we decided we wanted to do the SageSwap. Everyone on our team started grinding as much as possible to raise as much money as we could for our own reserves, and as you can see, it worked. The name SageSwap came about during one of our meetings. We were thinking about a name, and someone just threw out "Sage" so we thought, "Why not SageSwap?" There's no interesting story behind the name, haha.
2. Why did you decide to build a swap service that supports Monero?
Half of our lives, my team and I have been focused on privacy, monero, and freedom. We believe that in a world of constant surveillance, it would be useful to have a few services that can say STOP. That is why we decided to create SageSwap as our next project.
3. When should someone supply a refund address before doing a swap?
If possible, it is ALWAYS best to provide a refund address. There will always be situations where an error may occur and we will not be able to complete your transaction. Providing a refund address will save you some time because you will not have to contact Support.
4. Why is user privacy such a core focus for your platform?
Our entire team has always been in favor of privacy, freedom, and simply living a life where you can be sure that you are not always being watched. In 2025, it is really difficult to have privacy on any platform. Your phone tracks you, watches you, listens to you. Europe wants to introduce reading every message you send to your Mom? Dad? Brother? This is sick. We, like you and everyone else, deserve at least a LITTLE privacy, and each of us should fight for it!
5. Can you explain the order-deletion feature and what data is actually removed when a user deletes an order?
Each of our transactions is automatically deleted after 7 days. Of course, after a successful transaction, the user has the right to manually delete their transaction immediately. The data we collect to create a transaction: Your wallet address, TXID, Transaction ID, Transaction Value, and Transaction Creation Time. And that's really all of the important stuff, we don't have the tools to store more information about you.
6. What are the current minimum and maximum swap amounts, especially for Monero pairs?
For Monero, the minimum swap amount is $13 depending on the Monero exchange rate, while the maximum amount of Monero you can exchange at one time is 400 XMR. For other coins, the minimum amount is also $13, and the maximum depends on the coin, but we have really large reserves for such a new service.
7. Do you plan to list any additional trading pairs or focus on the ones you have?
New coins will definitely appear every few months. We will listen to our community, and if there are many questions about a particular coin, it will definitely appear within a few months.
8. What advice would you give Monero users to maximize privacy and safety when using SageSwap?
Even though I know that SageSwap is secure and does not collect any information about you, I will always recommend that you protect yourself before making a transaction. Remember that it is not worth trusting anyone who says “Our service really doesn't collect anything, really!” It is best to see for yourself and be careful about what people say on the internet because it may be nonsense. Use TOR, use VPN, use Tails, Whonix, or even Linux Mint. It will always be a better option than regular Windows. Most importantly, listen to yourself. If you think something is better for you, just do it. Advice from the internet is not always the best.
9. What predictions do you have for 2026 regarding Monero?
My dream will always be for Monero to work and be safe for people for as long as possible. The world is heading in the wrong direction, so Monero will benefit from this. XMR to $1000 very soon...?
